UPE 30 / Medef held its general meeting this Tuesday, October 1 at the Musée de la Romanité.

The UPE 30 has been without a president since the resignation of David Mélenchon from his post on September 5 for “deep strategic differences with the members of the office” (Gard: the president of the employers’ union UPE 30 David Mélenchon resigns (lereveildumidi.fr)) held its annual general meeting.

An assembly where the 2023 accounts of the employers’ union were presented, accounts in the green but impacted in cash flow by the acquisition of its new headquarters for more than 2 million euros (on the ring road opposite Nîmes Métropole). A headquarters where one of the two floors should be rented to an insurance company and therefore allow a profitability of the investment.

5 members then joined the board of directors: Jessica Audren, Laure Tissot-Schneller, Steeve Calligaro, Alain Protzel and Aloïs Dubois-Bentignie.

The board of directors will meet at the beginning of November to elect the new president of the union; Gilles Laumesfelt, vice-president, takes over as interim president.

A union which also envisages sharing governance with the appointment of a vice-president in its different components: mandate, training, economic development, animation and membership in order to distribute the workload among several people.

The union also plans to recruit an employee to increase the number of members currently at 255.

The union also wishes to highlight its representatives in order to encourage vocations.
