On September 26, the departmental elected officials gathered in a permanent committee, despite a financial context which they described as “worrying”, recalled their commitment to the municipalities and stakeholders of Haute-Garonne.

The Departmental Council remains a pole of stability,” assured Sébastien Vincini, president of the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council.

Aid worth several million euros

During this meeting, several decisions were approved. Elected officials thus voted for an envelope exceeding the 11 million euros in order to “support municipalities and intermunicipalities in the creation and rehabilitation of local equipment“, justifies the Departmental Council in a press release. These concern schools, nurseries, cultural spaces, sports halls, etc.

The Department is also committed to supporting “the modernization of the Saint-Gaudens slaughterhouses to the tune of 900,000 euros”, this in order to “contribute to food quality in Haute-Garonne and to structure a local meat sector”, he continues.

More than 7 million euros of investments were also mentioned to be allocated to the restoration of “three social and medico-social establishments” intended for the elderly or people with disabilities.

Numerous subsidies in favor of the plan urban renewal of the metropolisfor a total amount of “1.5 million euros” were also adopted by departmental elected officials.
