The net flow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Morocco reached 15.21 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) at the end of August 2024, marking a significant increase of 55.1% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the latest figures. published by the Office des Changes. This progression demonstrates the solidity and growing attractiveness of the Moroccan economy for international investors.

Revenues generated by FDI recorded a clear increase of 13.9%, reaching MAD 25.35 billion at the end of August. This increase is due to increased investor confidence in the Moroccan market, which benefits from political stability and a legislative framework favorable to business. At the same time, expenses linked to these investments decreased by 18.6%, reaching 10.14 billion dirhams, which contributed to strengthening the net flow of FDI.

This FDI performance reflects Morocco’s dynamism in encouraging foreign investment, particularly through economic reforms and diversification of its sectors of activity, such as industry, services, and renewable energies.

Concerning Moroccan Direct Investments Abroad (IDME), these also showed positive results. The net flow of IDMEs amounted to more than 1 billion dirhams, supported by a slight increase of 0.2% in revenues from the sale of these investments, which reached 10.67 billion dirhams. On the other hand, expenditure fell sharply by 35.8% to stand at 11.68 billion dirhams, which shows more prudent management of Moroccan investments internationally.

These results demonstrate the Kingdom’s resilience and growing competitiveness, both nationally and internationally, making Morocco a popular destination for foreign investors while strengthening its presence abroad.
