Offering a great retirement to laying hens for a low price: this is the proposal of the association “Les Caquetteuses”, which organizes rescue operations throughout . This is the case in Faÿ-lès-Nemours (Seine-et-Marne), where a farm with 12,000 hens must replace part of its workforce. Every 18 months, breeding hens are sent to the slaughterhouse because of the crawl space. The aim of the association is to offer them a second life in private homes. “ They are no longer young and will not produce eggs every daybut well fed, they can still ensure two or three years of laying,” specifies Manon, the treasurer of the association.

Provide a caring environment

Be careful, time is running out! The chickens will be available until October 5 only. The requested contribution is 4 euros per day : “We want to save as many chickens as possible. Every adoption counts and allows us to offer these animals a new life in a caring environment,” adds the association.

To reserve your chickens, send an SMS to 06 58 55 11 92 (no call), specifying “Reservation Faÿ-lès-Nemours”, your name, first name, the number of chickens and the chosen withdrawal date, between 10 and 12:15 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Consider coming with a means of transport suitable for your new residents. The association will come back by SMS to tell you the meeting place.

Information by SMS to 06 58 55 11 92 and on the website www.lescaquetteuses.fr
