Throughout the hearing, this man with no criminal record simply acknowledged the final round of violence against his last partner, on February 19. That day, in Gond-Pontouvre, this temporary worker violently slammed the victim onto the sofa, tore her leggings then hit her on the buttocks. The next day, this woman tried to escape by going over a low wall but seriously injured her foot. Following a report from a municipal police officer, investigators from the Angoulême police station unrolled the wire. And discovered that Gnohan Korichi had also made his ex go through hell. “She thought that life was no longer worth living,” described Aurélie Legras, her lawyer.
Slaps, shoves, kicks, denigration… and violence, too, against his three children. Belt hits on the feet, bites and his own way of giving his babies a bottle, blocking their noses to force them to drink… “Social workers are very worried about the children’s progress…” , notes president Nathalie Billington who points to “violent behavior and sleep disorders”.
“A gynecological procedure”
As for the climax of the violence against his ex, it occurred one evening in March 2023. Once his partner was locked in the bathroom, he imposed digital penetration on her – “a gynecological act”, as the victim called it – to see if she had cheated on him. Here again the defendant denied it. During her requisitions, prosecutor Stéphanie Aouine mentioned an “emblematic case of domestic violence today”. Praised, too, “the painstaking work and stacking of elements”, carried out by the police officers. And required a three-year prison sentence.
For her part, Ophélie Tardieux, the lawyer for one of the victims, described a man “for whom arguing is hitting”. A man “dangerous, because he minimizes. » In defense, François des Minières criticized the investigation. “There is not a photo, you do not have the slightest observation of a scratch in this file. Everything she says is not backed by anything! » He also praised his client’s professional integration and his clean record.
At the end of the debates, Gnohan Korichi, who spoke very little during the hearing, promised to “do work” on himself. But in prison. He was kept in detention.
