For four days, the small town of Casson (Loire-Atlantique) is in turmoil with the Liberation Festival on the site of the Château du Plessis. The Old Vehicle Heritage association and the town of Casson pulled out all the stops as this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Liberation and the Landing.

This Wednesday, May 8, the town of Casson lives to the rhythm of the American camp installed on the site of the Château du Plessis.

Indeed, the Liberation Day is in full swing there and it will last four days. To get off to a good start, an extremely rare event took place on this first day with the assembly of a mobile Bailey bridge by an association from Belgium, 300th Engineer Combat Battalion. It can support a weight of 70 tonnes at time t.

The curious crowd came in large numbers to see this unique demonstration in Europe, according to the organizers. The party continues until Saturday.
