With 330 cameras by the end of 2024, Nantes will be placed 7th among the most equipped large cities in France, with an increase of 146% in the number of cameras between 2019 and 2024. Not enough for the right. Far too much for environmentalists.

88 new video surveillance cameras in 2023, 80 additional in 2024… If there is one campaign promise largely kept by Johanna Rolland, it is this. The one who inherited a city without video surveillance from Jean‐Marc Ayrault in 2014 has not skimped on resources in recent years. And it continues.

The mayor‐president announced on April 25 the installation of 80 additional cameras this year in the 11 districts of Nantes. Johanna Rolland is thus keeping the commitment she made when signing the Integrated Security Contract with the State in May 2021. She is even doing much more. Nantes was to benefit from 250 cameras at the end of the mandate. There will be 330 of them by the end of 2024 and others are planned by 2026.
