With 3,000 runners gathered, the race was sold out. “No one could register since Tuesday. We had already reached the gauge! But we will try to have an even larger gauge next year”rejoices Barbara Prot, president of SOS Breast Cancer.

Run or walk?

There were two choices to participate in this solidarity moment: walk or run. The departure was from the Quai desUnis. The walkers walked along the Promenade des Anglais to the Lenval hospital. The runners pushed a little further, to Carras. And under a perfectly blue sky.

A registration for €12 to finance the association’s actions

Each registrant paid €12 for their registration, entirely donated to the SOS Breast Cancer association. “It is a participatory donation, which will finance all the activities and all the supportive care that we offer to women suffering from breast cancer and gynecological cancers”specifies Barbara Prot.

Raise awareness about physical activity

If this highlight allowed us to have a good time, it was also an opportunity to transmit several important messages. “Breast cancer is a disease that disrupts families and changes a woman’s life. There is a 90% chance of being cured when it is caught early.”explains the president of SOS Breast Cancer. Hence the usefulness of raising awareness of prevention, but of raising awareness of physical activity, which helps to reduce the risk of cancer.
