The invitations for the Ukraine Peace Conference on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock (NW) have been officially sent. The Federal Council has invited some 160 national delegations, it said on Thursday. Russia is not invited for the moment.

The conference aims in particular to provide a platform for dialogue to achieve peace in Ukraine and to jointly define a roadmap on how to involve the two parties, recalls the government. The participation of a large number of States is crucial to achieving these objectives.

Among the guests are members of the G7, G20, BRICS, many other countries from all continents as well as the EU, three international organizations, including the UN, and two representatives from the religious world, such as the Vatican. On the other hand, Russia has not yet been invited.

As for the arrival of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the government writes that “the final list of participants will not be known until very shortly before the conference”.
