The Liberals on Monday asked Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre to condemn the far-right group Diagolon, with which some of the demonstrators who gathered in Nova Scotia are believed to be associated.

Videos of the Conservative Party leader have circulated on social media since last week as he showed his support and encouraged protesters who opposed the carbon tax hike.

This demonstration, however, attracted criticism from the ruling party, which cast doubt on the opposition leader’s association.

It is more particularly the people who would be associated with the Diagolon group who would pose a problem.

Members of the group would advocate, among other things, the dismantling of Western governments.

The Liberals therefore insisted that the Conservative leader affirm his intentions regarding far-right and conspiracy groups, such as Diabolon, in the House of Commons today.

The Conservatives responded that Pierre Poilievre’s appearance at the Nova Scotia rally was just an impromptu stop as an opponent of the carbon tax.

“If Justin Trudeau is worried about extremism, he should watch the parades in Canadian streets openly celebrating the massacre of Jews by Hamas on October 7,” Conservative party members added Monday.
