Dr. Mbaye NDIAYE began an inspection visit to neighboring countries with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between customs institutions. After Gambian, Malian, Guinean and Guinea-Bissau customs, it is the turn of Mauritanian customs to receive a visit from the Director General of Senegalese Customs.

Mbaye Ndiaye took advantage of his inspection tour in the Northern Customs Region to go to Rosso, Mauritania to meet his colleague Hamidou Cheikh Abdallah. Mr. N’Diaye and his delegation were entitled to a warm welcome commensurate with the exemplary relations between the two countries but also between the two sister customs administrations of Senegal and Mauritania.

The facilitation of cross-border trade, the fight against trafficking of all kinds, the safeguarding of good neighborly relations between the two countries as well as the prospects linked to the construction of the Rosso Bridge among many others, were at the center of the discussion. between directors.
A project to create juxtaposed checkpoints is in sight and experts from both parties will work on its materialization.

The two CEOs also went to the base of the company responsible for the construction of the Rosso Bridge. On site, they were given a presentation of the project and its progress. They therefore took note of the efforts and complaints made by the company with a view to better handling of the customs facilitations necessary for the execution of the work.

It was at the end of a full day tinged with cordiality that Dr. Mbaye Ndiaye took leave of his colleague from Mauritania to return to the left bank of the Senegal River and continue his inspection tour which led him, in turn, in the administrative regions of Louga, Saint-Louis and Matam
