This Sunday, April 28, in Limours, a man suffering from psychiatric disorders exhibited a rifle in front of the gendarmes who intervened at his home, who responded by opening fire on the maniac. The man, hit by several shots, was hospitalized between life and death.
It was around 10:30 p.m. when the events occurred in a building in the town. With, initially, a medical intervention: the SAMU decided to send an ambulance to the home of this 33-year-old man, suffering from serious mental problems.
Stones against an ambulance
Except that the patient would have greeted the caregivers by throwing stones at the emergency vehicle. The ambulance leaves immediately, the gendarmerie is notified. A few minutes later, members of the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG) arrived on site.
The atmosphere is still a little tense: according to the first elements brought to our attention, the man displays a rifle in full view of the gendarmes. Did he use his weapon or not? This point was not made clear to us.
The man airlifted in absolute emergency
Still, the PSIG team is responding. The soldiers reportedly fired several times in the direction of the maniac. Hit by three shots, according to initial information, the man collapsed, seriously injured. He will be transported as an absolute emergency to Torcy hospital (Seine-et-Marne) by helicopter during the night. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy.
Reached by telephone, the mayor of Limours, Chantal Thiriet, declined to comment. For the moment, we have not been able to contact the Évry-Courcouronnes public prosecutor’s office.
