After many setbacks, this bucolic place will find activity again. The restaurant at the nautical stop de Lagruère (Lot-et-Garonne), on the banks of the canal, reopened on April 15, 2024 and is now called “At Marcel’s”. In the kitchen, Marcel Boudia will share his know-how: local, homemade cuisine.

An experienced cook

Famous for his taste for the land, friendship and rugby, Marcel Boudia wants to share his passion for cooking. This colorful colossus with excessive kindness, well known for having worked in the region in Feugarolles, Virazeil, but also in , has Biscarosse or Porge, has more than one trick up its sleeve.

Coming from a large family, the young man understood very early that cooking was his domain, even if his second passion was rugby. But who says rugby, says fraternity, conviviality and sharing, values which he holds above all else. “I know where I come from and I want all social classes to be able to come and eat at my place, from the worker to the CEO. Everyone should feel comfortable here,” he explains.

With a capacity of 120 seats, it offers local cuisine with local products from regional producers. He also brought back seafood recipes from his experience on the Atlantic coast.

A unique bucolic place in the region

The chef also wishes to organize from time to time some concerts on weekends, but without disturbing the neighbors. Make it a place where everyone can have a drink in peace, along the canal, watching the boats go by.

“What I love here is this calm, this greenery and this beauty. We are on the edge of the canal, the boats are magical and it’s my region.

Moreover, his wife is from the village, “all the planets were aligned for us to settle here”. Monday April 15, this man, who also has a sense of communication, invited with Joëlle, his wife, the inhabitants of the town where an evening sangria was planned. But be careful, to eat there, it is better to do it in advance and to book by phone “This weekend, I had to refuse several dozen people » he says smiling, which is a guarantee of quality and seriousness.

By the way, no longer call this restaurant Halte Nautique but… “Chez Marcel”.
