Dakar, April 24 (APS) – The government will complete the development of its economic and social policy document during the third quarter of this year, assured Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers.

Regarding the work of developing the reference document on economic and social policy, the ‘Project’, the Prime Minister affirmed that it will exclusively bear the seal of Senegalese expertise and will be completed in the third quarter of the ‘year 2024”, reports the Minister of Vocational Training and government spokesperson, Amadou Moustapha Njekk Sarré.

Mr. Sonko announced, during the weekly government meeting, the creation of a “restricted technical committee”, which will be responsible for developing this document.

”This body will be made up in particular of the ministries in charge of Planning, Finance, Industry, Food Sovereignty, Employment, Public Sector Transformation, and the Organization and Methods Office”, reports M . Sarré in the press release from the Council of Ministers.

The future document will be proposed to the Head of State before the end of the third quarter of this year, according to the same Source.

Ousmane Sonko also informed the government of the existence of a draft ”reference” for social dialogue, which takes into account the ”rich exchanges held respectively with trade union organizations […] and employers”.

The press release from the Council of Ministers also announces a ”range of measures to enable a cyclical reduction in the prices of essential foodstuffs and a framework for the overhaul of social dialogue taking into account in particular pay equity, the commitments of the government, job security and union rights and duties”.
