Sweden certainly gave Canada a cold sweat during their final four match at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship, but the maple leaf held on to score a 5-4 victory to advance to the final, SATURDAY.
The Scandinavian country reduced the gap to a single goal with more than five minutes remaining in the third period. In addition, Porter Martone received a minor penalty, which put the Canadian team in hot water.

The Swedes removed their goalie Love Harenstam to attack with six skaters in the last minute of play, but in vain. Carter George stood up to repeated attacks from his rivals, finishing with 31 saves.
Canada was hot as they led 4-0 after 20 minutes. Henry Mews scored the decisive goal in the second period to make it 5-1.
At the same stage of the tournament last year, Sweden humiliated the maple leaf bearers with a 7-2 victory. Revenge was thus achieved, despite the difficulties.
A classic confrontation with the United States awaits Canada in the final. The Americans easily defeated Slovakia 7-2 earlier in the day. The final match will take place on Sunday.
