Alain Espinasse, prefect of Finistère, went to Saint-Pol-de-Léon on Tuesday April 23, 2024, to sign the security contract backed by the municipality’s “Small town of tomorrow” convention, with Stéphane Cloarec, mayor of the commune and Colonel Charlotte Tournant, commanding the Finistère gendarmerie group.

Increase the presence of patrols

This security contract will make it possible to continue the coordination and complementarity of the action carried out by the gendarmerie, the mayor and his teams, as well as the municipal police: increase the presence of foot and electric bike patrols, plan regular meetings to take into account the evolution of delinquency or incivility, implement preventive actions on cyber risks among young people and vulnerable people (scams), conduct surveys on the issues of environmental protection (animals wildlife, animal welfare, etc.). Furthermore, the town of Saint-Pol-de-Léon promotes the integration of families of police officers called upon to be mobile.

The prefect recalled that the safety contract is a voluntary approach by the municipalities and that “safety contributes to the quality of life”. He also recalled the existence of the “My Security” system which allows each citizen to be an actor in this security.
