900 people gathered on Sunday in the town of Brousse for the 3rd Remarkable Walk of 2024 organized by The mountain.

It was under sunny skies that the hikers set off on the three routes marked out by the Balirando association. On the program, circuits of 3.5 km, 8 km or 12 km around the town of 350 inhabitants, nestled at the foot of the Livradois mountains, between 500 and 850 m above sea level. Odile and Christian, two keen hikers for “the sporting aspect and the landscapes”, had come from Clermont-Ferrand to discover this village which was unknown to them.

Around fifty volunteers mobilized

Sophie and Laurent, who traveled from Saint-Germain-Lembron, do at least one hike per week.

“We enjoy the benefits of walking and the outdoors, of nature.”

Laurent (hiker from Clermont-Ferrand)

Both enjoyed discovering the built and natural heritage of the place, notably the church and the volcanic mound of Montboissier. And to salute the very good organization of the event.

Around fifty volunteers, members of Balirando and residents of Brousse participated in the organization. “There are people at the two refreshment points offered by the town hall, guides at the parking lots, marshals to help cross, and volunteers at the friendship drink offered on arrival,” explained Gislaine, member of Balirando.

1,040 euros in donations for France Parkinson

This remarkable walk in the Brousse once again aimed to support a cause. This time, it was the France Parkinson association which was present.

“We support people affected by the disease, but also caregivers, with 120 members. We offer activities such as tango, qi gong, discussion groups and information meetings.”

Nicolas Boudier-Ducloy (departmental delegate of France Parkinson)

Hikers had the opportunity to make a donation. The association also sold newspapers The mountain of which she was able to keep all of the proceeds. Thus, 1,040 euros were collected.

What are the six hikes that will punctuate the Remarkable Walks in Puy-de-Dôme in 2024?
