Former Senegalese international footballer Habib Béye arrived in Dakar on Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of his father, Abdou Béye, a leading figure in Senegalese football in the 1970s.

Abdou Béye, who left his mark playing for USAC Pikine, now Niayes Sports, died in on September 11, 2024 at the age of 82. The remains were repatriated to Senegal on Tuesday afternoon and were transferred to the Principal Hospital in Dakar, where the body was removed this Wednesday morning between 10:30 and 11:00. The burial will take place at 2 p.m. at the Thiaroye Kaw cemetery.
