the essential
It was at the headquarters of the Deux-Rives community of communes that the Tarn-et-Garonne Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its AGM on Monday, September 16, 2024. A first which is a great recognition of the economic vitality of the -d’ employment area.

Valence-d’Agen was the scene of an unprecedented event on Monday, September 16, 2024: it was the first time that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tarn-et-Garonne organized its general assembly outside the walls of its headquarters.

The choice to organize this AGM in the Deux-Rives, an area that benefits from a strong economic momentum and is home to the department’s first industrial site, the Golfech power plant, was entirely relevant. Enough to delight Jean-Michel Baylet who warmly welcomed the president of the CCI Pascal Roux and the members of his office to the CC2R headquarters. Prefect Vincent Roberti honored this first decentralized AGM of the consular organization with his presence.

Pascal Roux gave a retrospective of the results of the various actions carried out by the CCI services with companies in Tarn-et-Garonne over the last quarter. He also focused on the projects for the coming quarter. “A national event, the Orientation Night, on Wednesday, December 4, will aim to introduce our young people from Tarn-et-Garonne to the different professions present in our region.” The Serviciz trade fair, dedicated to service companies, will be held on October 3 at the MEET in : it is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Pascal Roux also hopes for a good representation of Tarn-et-Garonne at the SIANE trade fair, the largest meeting of industrialists in the Grand Sud which brings together between 700 and 800 industrial subcontracting professionals each year: the meeting is set for October 13 to 15, also at the MEET.

The CCI general meeting was held in the Deux-Rives community council room.

One of the highlights of this Valencian AGM was devoted to the structuring projects of Tarn-et-Garonne. Éric Marenco, 1st Vice-President of the CCI in charge of Occirail, presented the progress of the major project linked to the railway world supported by the CCI of Tarn-et-Garonne. Thanks to a 3D presentation, the participants were able to see the progress of the project and the different stages that still need to be completed.

Golfech, a hotbed of jobs

Also highly anticipated was the speech by Cyril Hisbacq. The director of the Golfech CNPE presented the major projects carried out by EDF on this site, highlighting the number of jobs generated by the plant locally (around 3,000 jobs – direct, indirect or induced). Mr. Hisdbacq gave an update on the progress of the major overhaul (plant renovation project) and he also discussed the new EPR project, since we know that Golfech is a candidate to host a pair of 3rd generation reactors. A strategic project for the Tarn-et-Garonne and regional economy that is supported by the CCI 82.

This system aims to facilitate, secure and accelerate the financing of business creation and takeover projects.
