Significant smoke was seen in the sky of Pas-de-Calais this Tuesday, September 17, 2024 around 6:30 p.m. A Fire broke out at a campsite in Mametznear Saint-Omer. A mobile home caught fire And A man was seriously injured.

Firefighters from the Saint-Omer and Aire-sur-la-Lys barracks intervened at the Château de Mametz campsite for “smoke following food left on the fire in a mobile home,” explains the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis).

Upon entering, the firefighters discovered a man in cardio-respiratory arrest. The Smur doctors and the firefighters managed to revive the victim aged 59. The fifty-year-old was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The gendarmerie and the mayor of Mametz were present at the scene.
