Jazz and blues evening for the benefit of the Gers Himalaya association in Fleurance

Friday, September 27, at 8:30 p.m., at the Méridional theater in Fleurance, the Gers Himalaya association is organizing a jazz concert.

During this music concert, the audience will be able to listen to the JB Blues Band as the opening act, a French-Scottish trio that navigates wonderfully between soul, smooth jazz and blues. Led by John, this group will know how to capsize towards a dynamic and wild musical moment. An intermission will be offered.

Then, during the 2nd part of the evening, the spectators will discover the Franco-Dutch group So Swing, led by Nic and his musician friends. Passionate about cycling, Nic will take you away from the Gers hills that he loves to travel towards jazz swing horizons.

These two groups of musicians are touched by the commitment of Gers Himalaya. They wish to share their enthusiasm for this cause during this concert. Already in 2022, the JB Blues Band performed in Pavia for the benefit of Gers Himalaya and had a great success.

For the benefit of Gers Himalaya

This 2024 concert is organized to always raise awareness of the Gers Himalaya association which actively supports education in Nepal. It raises funds for the purchase of school materials, educational and awakening games.

Gers Himalaya has existed for over twenty years and has particularly loyal members. The association finances the school fees of around thirty children and the learning of French by intervening in two schools, Suryodaya in Kathmandu and the Gers-Himalaya school, a nursery school created and managed by the association where it employs several people year-round.

The money raised during this musical evening will be donated in full to Gers Himalaya, the participants being all volunteers.

At the entrance to the Fleurance theatre, spectators will be asked for a minimal contribution of €10. However, all donations for the benefit of Gers Himalaya will be welcomed by the members of the association.
