A 15-year-old teenager and his 37-year-old mother were presented this Monday, April 29, in the afternoon, to a judge after the stabbing murder of a teenager, Saturday evening, in Châteauroux. At a time when the debate on the violence of a section of youth is in full swing.

In police custody since Saturday evening, a minor and his mother were both “presented before an investigating judge from the criminal division” for “intentional homicide”, announced the public prosecutor in Châteauroux, Agnès Auboin, in a press release sent yesterday afternoon.

The 15-year-old teenager was indicted Monday evening for “murder” and placed in pre-trial detention, two days after the stabbing murder of young Matisse in Châteauroux, the Bourges prosecutor’s office announced Monday in a press release.

His mother, presented alongside him, was indicted for “intentional violence” against “vulnerable person”, specified the public prosecutor of Bourges, Céline Visiedo, indicating that she had “slapped the victim”. Both mother and son are of Afghan nationality, according to the same Source.

The brawl, which occurred on Saturday around 6 p.m. on the public highway of Châteauroux, a peaceful town of some 43,000 inhabitants, led to the death of Matisse, also a 15-year-old teenager, a few hours later in hospital.

The fact that the minor is “of Afghan origin” according to a close Source who did not give further details on his nationality, led several figures from the right and the extreme right to denounce the “migratory policy” of the government.

Speaking to RTL, Matisse’s father, Christophe Marchais, warns: “Let’s not mix things up. Pay attention to all the right-wing parties or elsewhere who appropriate this type of thing”. “The context of the facts is not clearly established to date,” insists Ms. Auboin. However, according to a Source close to the investigation, this “has nothing to do with Islamism, there is no religious character”.
