Water management is at the heart of current environmental concerns, and in Meuse, this challenge is being taken up by young people, reveals Bleu Lorraine . Thanks to the Youth Parliament for Waterlaunched by the Rhine-Meuse Water Agency, young people aged 16 to 27 in the department now have their say in decisions relating to the preservation of water resources.

This innovative project aims to directly involve future adults in the fight against pollution and the protection of aquatic ecosystems.

Adopting simple actions to reduce the water footprint

Participants in the Youth Parliament for Water are invited to reflect on concrete actions to reduce water consumption, improve the quality of rivers and groundwater, and raise awareness among residents about water issues.

How to join the Youth Parliament for Water?

For the moment, the collective is composed of 40 people. But you can join the Youth Parliament for Water under a few conditions:

  • To have between 16 and 27 years old
  • Be a resident of Rhine-Meuse basin
  • Surrender available to participate in the sessions of the Youth Parliament for Water

Candidates will be selected based on their motivation and then by drawing lots. They will be informed of the outcome of their application no later than November 15, 2024.

The duration of the mandate is 2 years.

The installation session of the Youth Parliament will take place on Saturday, November 30 at the headquarters of the Rhin-Meuse water agency in Rozérieulles.

Registrations are open on this site until October 15, 2024.
