Princess Leonor lived her first day at the General Military Academy this Friday, August 18, 2023. The Princess of Asturias bowed to the regulation haircut and wears the military uniform for the first time.

Leonor of Spain lives his first day at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza
The heiress to the Spanish throne should expect to live out the next three armies in the ranks of military academies. On August 17, Princess Leonor, who will turn 18 in October 2023, returned to the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, Aragon. This is the first of three stages of its formation, within the Earth component. Next year she will follow a year of study at the Marine Academy, followed the following year by a one-year training at the Air Academy.

On Thursday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia accompanied their daughter to the front doors of the academy, walking the last few meters pulling her heavy suitcase alone. This Friday, these are already photos of a completely different style that the Royal House shares. Princess Leonor looks in her element, wearing the cadet uniform and headgear. Cadet Borbón Ortiz has also adopted the new regulation haircut.

From this Friday, the Princess of Asturias takes her bearings and learns the basics of the army. She must manage faster than her classmates because in October, during the swearing-in ceremony, she will already be joining second-year students.
Due to her atypical background, her studies will be condensed and she will have to study two years in one. By October, her instructors will consider that she has assimilated the equivalent of the rudiments of the first year.

Even if this military atmosphere is completely new for the heiress to the throne, Leonor is not at her first experience outside the family home. For the past two years, the Princess of Asturias has been studying at a boarding school in Wales, at UWC Atlantic College.
