This weekend, you can discover the artists in their workshops, or discover the new Fontaine gallery. Installed for a year on rue Damiette in Rouenon November 22, 2024, it took up new quarters rue Eau de Robec.
A popular gallery in Rouen
Success has not diminished throughout this year for David Fontaine. “We received 170 applications in one year. Now it's really a recognized gallery by the public and the artists whom I thank all,” he explains to 76actu.
Describing himself as “gallery owner without being a gallery owner” (it's not basically his job), but above all “passionate”, David Fontaine is delighted with the trust he has been able to build with artists, visitors and buyers.
A new premises on rue Eau de Robec
But now, the gallery is entering “its act 2, like in a play”, by moving to 186 rue Eau de Robec. “I had to find a new location and I found this one thanks to collectors,” rejoices the gallery owner.
This new address will however be temporary. “A physiotherapy practice is due to be set up there in September 2025, but in the meantime, the owners did not want to leave it empty. » A great opportunity to invest in this beautiful 16th century buildinge century.
For the start of this act 2, David Fontaine is exhibiting established artists who have already visited his gallery: Michel Delaunay, Louis Gagez, Pascale Morin and Jane Planson. But you can also discover the incredible tissue paper foldings of a young artist, Louise Manchon. “It’s a continuation of what I was doing on Rue Damiette, promoting artists, mainly local, and discovering young talents. »
