The troupe of the Theater Club of Al Hoceima presents its first official performance of the play “In search of my father/ARZZUX The first show will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Moulay El Hassan Cultural Center in Al Hoceima, with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Culture Sector, Season 2024.

The play is based on the text “The Meeting Line” by Moroccan writer Shawqi Al-Hamdani and directed by Raja Kharmaz and Mohamed Bensaïd, with creative participation from
Scenography by Youssef Al-Arqoubi, lighting by Haddouch Botzkent, musical preparation and execution by Abdel Aziz Al-Baqali and decoration technician Mahdi Asban. In addition to translating the clips into rural language by Mohamed Bensaïd and Zakaria Qubaa, Refaat Ballout manages communication and production, while Nabil Belhaj is in charge of the general governorship.

The play “In search of my father” is the third collaboration between the director Abdel-Jabbar Khamran and the troupe of the Theater Club of Al Hoceima, after the great success of My experience, the play “The knot” of the Iraqi writer Muhammad Saif and “Double Deception”. » by the international writer Eugène Ionesco.

The play tells the story of Al-Bashir, who embarks on an arduous journey in search of his father, who has been missing for forty years. He ends up meeting Rabia, the owner of a cabaret, who may have clues that will help him. lead him to his father’s fate. The play lasts approximately 60 minutes, featuring a mix of dialogue between Moroccan and rural dialect, which gives the work a distinctive local character close to the audience.

The Al Hoceima Theater Club troupe was founded in 2014 on the initiative of a group of local artists from the city of Al Hoceima, and has since become a major component of the Moroccan theater scene. The troupe distinguished itself by presenting various theatrical performances addressing societal issues related to human rights, women’s and children’s rights and Amazigh culture, in addition to its creativity in the presentation of international works . The troupe works professionally in Morocco and abroad, collaborating with artists and directors from different cultures with the aim of benefiting from the diversity of national and international theater.

The troupe maintains partnerships with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, which allows it to participate in various national and international festivals, and to organize training workshops aimed at young people to prepare a new generation of playwrights.

“Looking for My Father” represents a new artistic work that takes audiences on an exciting dramatic journey that combines humanity and mystery, and promises enjoyable viewing that takes them on a path full of challenges and search for truth.
