The millionaire co-founder of the crypto firm Bitfarms, Pierre-Luc Quimper, who had success in business with his tech companies and his data centers, died last Monday, at the age of 39, in his condo of West Palm Beach, Florida learned The newspaper.
” It’s truly sad. Pierre-Luc had started from scratch. He founded his companies at an early age. He was successful in business long before he co-founded Bitfarms,” the Log Bahador Zabihiyan, his close friend, and business associate with him.
“He had nothing to do with crypto investors who like to flash. Pierre-Luc was a true entrepreneur. He saw trends before anyone else. He was a visionary. He took action quietly, ”added the former Radio-Canada journalist.
The cause of his death is unknown, but his body bore no signs of violence.
His first computer server SME, GloboTech, was successful. In the midst of the crypto boom, Pierre-Luc Quimper confused Bitfarms, which he had left since 2019.
He then saw the immense potential of data centers by seeing the rise of artificial intelligence in our lives and launched the Quebec data centers Enovum, which have the wind in their sails.
From dropout to entrepreneur
Five years ago, The newspaper told the story of Pierre-Luc Quimper, who left school at 12 and became a successful businessman with his computer firms, servers and data centers.
“When I hire people, I don’t necessarily look at their education. I look at what they are really worth. I often give people a chance. My best in the team are those who haven’t been to school for a long time,” he told the Log during an interview.
At a time when young shoots are making a fuss and spreading out in slick marketing campaigns, Pierre-Luc Quimper’s style clashed with its simplicity.
“He was an entrepreneur in the noble sense of the term. He worked all the time”, concludes Bahador Zabihiyan still in shock.
