The Barrière casino in Deauville innovates and surprises with its brand new show, The Great Party. No more classic music hall, make way for an immersive and rhythmic experience, masterfully orchestrated by Léonformer dancer turned artistic director.
For three hours spectacle non-stop, twelve artists – singers, dancers and actors – take the public on a musical journey through the last ten decades.
From Vivaldi to Prokofiev, via Slimane, Juliette Armanet, Claude François or ABBA, The Great Party plays the audacity card by mixing styles and eras.
Another new feature: the stage is set up between the tables, transforming the room into a real dance floor. Spectators are invited to stand up and vibrate to the sound of the rhythms that marked their youth or rocked their childhood.
The first performance, which was held on Saturday in the Ambassadors’ Loungeset the tone for the next 20 dates. A dinner show of a completely different kind, which promises to make move Deauville like never before.
Electrifying but sometimes confusing
With music catchy and costumes chic and colorful, The Great Party immerses spectators in a festive swirl where dance, singing and original staging combine. However, the main thread of the story and the artists can sometimes seem difficult to follow, as the frantic pace takes Mister Flow and Miss DJ Facette in their journey.
-The plot is based on Mister Flow, a former master of ceremonies and passionate musician, who, caught up in the world of social networks, lost his passion for the stage.
But Miss DJ Facette, full of energy and determined to revive the party spirit, takes him on a unique musical adventure. Through eras, styles and great classics, she rediscovers the magic of spectacle and living music.
If the experience is immersive and visually seductivemany spectators however regretted a volume sound excessiveespecially in the bass, which makes exchanges with its neighbors difficult and even impossible on certain pieces.
A detail that takes nothing away from the intensity of the showbut which could deserve a slight adjustment to offer a perfect balance between the performance of the artists and the comfort of the audience.
20 dates, from January 25 to December 20, at the Barrière casino in Deauville.
