Since January 16, 2025, Jean Imbert, 2012 winner of the show Top Chef on M6 and starred chef,
is at the head of a new restaurant in Mont-Saint-Michel, in Manche. It is located in the logical Sainte-Catherine.
A first restaurant for the Mauviel company
This is the company Mauviel1830, specialized in the manufacturing copper kitchen utensils, in Villedieu-les-Poêles, for almost two centuries, who won, for 15 years, the concession of this place which is owned by the State.
“We are no longer just manufacturers of kitchen utensils: we are now restaurateurs,” appreciates Valérie Le Guern Gilbert, president of Mauviel1830. With this new adventure, we want to follow our philosophy to the limit: make well, cook well, eat well. »
Chef Jean Imbert has maintained friendships with Mauviel for several years.
A menu with local products, between land and sea
Logis Sainte-Catherine offers a menu made up of local products and which combines flavors of the land and the sea. Example: Thermidor lobster alongside Abrinka pig. You will also find a rillettes recipe inherited from the chef’s mother.
“I am very happy to sign the menu of the first Maison Mauviel restaurant in this magnificent and historic place that is Mont-Saint-Michel,” says chef Jean Imbert.
Built in 19e century by the Poulard family for their private needs, the building was then transferred to the Assistance publique – Hôpitaux de Paris. It was then used to house the successive curators of the abbey, before welcoming the firefighters until the beginning of 2022.
