Between a fundraiser which has already raised more than $600,000, support for affected families and actions to save abandoned animals, the star transforms her tragedy into a real outpouring of solidarity.
The fires ravaging Los Angeles have spared no one, not even celebrities. Paris Hilton, heiress to the Hilton hotel empire, saw her Malibu home go up in smoke. Despite this loss, the star immediately mobilized her resources and influence to help the victims of this disaster.
A prize pool for families and children
Touched by the scale of the tragedy, Paris Hilton launched a fundraising campaign via her 11:11 Media Impact foundation, already raising more than $600,000 in just three days. Among these donations, she personally contributed $100,000 to support the victims.
She also announced that she would provide cash assistance to 150 families in Altadena, one of the worst-hit areas. “While I have lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost much more: their homes, their treasured memories, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability.”she said on Instagram, recalling that families know better than anyone what they need to rebuild themselves.
A mobilization for animals in distress
A great animal lover, Paris Hilton has also been involved with local NGOs, such as the Pasadena Humane Society. On Monday, she spent the day volunteering, helping find owners of pets lost or abandoned due to the fires.
In particular, she participated in reuniting a cat with her family, although they no longer have a home. The star also took a liking to Zuzu, a three-year-old chihuahua abandoned after the destruction of his owners’ house, whom she decided to adopt temporarily. “I’m heartbroken for those who lost their furry friends or had to part with them due to evacuations”confided Paris Hilton. “I am so grateful to be able to bring home Zuzu who her family sadly had to abandon after their home was destroyed in the fires”she adds.
Beyond immediate help, Paris Hilton is actively working to offer long-term solutions. Thanks to her foundation and the support of her fans, she multiplies initiatives to help disaster victims, in particular by collaborating with organizations such as Baby2Baby.
