The Department of Loiret, owner of the castle-museum of Gien, the museum of the Resistance and the Deportation of Lorris, the castle of Sully-sur-Loire and the castle of Chamerolles, has reason to rejoice.
In 2024, each of its four sites recorded an increase in attendance.
According to the community, the Gien castle-museum received 17,578 visitors, compared to 16,805 in 2023, an increase of 5%. “This progression is explained in particular by the success of the two exhibitions: “Butterfly hunting, a cultural, scientific and artistic journey into the world of insects” and “Mammoth hunters, photos by Francis Latreille”,” specifies the Department.
Great performance at the Lorris museum
The Lorris Museum of Resistance and Deportation welcomed 8,100 people (6,995 in 2023, increase of 15%). And this despite its closure for works, from September 17, 2023 to April 6, 2024.
The community explains this performance through the exhibition organized for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
The Château de Sully-sur-Loire attracted 72,559 curious people, slightly exceeding the 72,350 visitors recorded in 2023.
The Château de Chamerolles received 45,987 visitors (41,004 in 2023, increase of 12.15%).
