Sunday January 19, 2025, at 3 p.m., two concerts will take place at the Jean-Monnet hall in Guipavas to support research into Charcot disease (or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). In France, there are around twenty centers which treat patients with this disease, including one in Finistère. Located at the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest, it follows around 120 patients. “This allows the centralization of all appointments. It’s the doctors who come to us, patients,” indicates Jean-Jacques Morvan, resident of Guipavas and patient at Cavale Blanche. The Charcot 29 association, created around ten years ago, forms the link with this center.
Two groups in the spotlight
So, this Sunday in Guipavas, two groups will show their support. First of all, the seven musicians members of the Guitare et Chanson association will offer guitar-voice titles of current or older French variety. Then, it will be the turn of a group from Plouarzel, Arzheliz. It was released in 2018 and is made up of different musicians (flutist, accordionist, guitarists, percussionists) and four singers. Arzheliz will offer a folk repertoire very inspired by Breton music. They will play covers as well as personal compositions.
