Wave of love for Julien Poulin from Quebec artists

It is a real wave of love that the late actor Julien Poulin has received from Quebec artists since the announcement of his death on January 4, at the age of 78.

The actor Hubert Proulx wanted to emphasize the extent to which Julien Poulin had “been an idol, but also an important model in [s]in life and in the profession.

“Just before taking that selfie, you had just said to me: “If I were a producer, I would ask you to write a show! With the energy you have, we want to follow you, you take us with you!” Coming from such a great actor, the compliment went straight to my heart (I even wanted to think I was good!). You sowed a seed, because finally, I wrote a show,” writes the actor, who played with Julien Poulin in the series Leo.

“For the premiere, in March, it is you that I will think of before entering the stage… Thank you for your talent, your generosity, your sensitivity and your deep humanity. Rest in peace dear friend,” he adds.

The actor Pierre-Luc Brillant delivered one of the most poignant tributes to Julien Poulin, with whom he confides having filmed some of the most difficult scenes of his life in The orphans of Duplessis in 1997.

“He was for me an icon, a mentor, a legend! I asked him to give me lessons. He humbly refused, telling me that he didn’t feel up to it and that I would become a better actor anyway by studying philosophy. I was already a sovereignist, I became even more so after our long discussions on Quebec. Hi Julien!”

The comedian Michel Barretteaged 67, wrote these words on his Facebook page: “First Lucien Francoeur… then my old friend Marcel St-Pierre. Today, Julien… It’s endlessly sad!!! The last 30 days have been difficult… Pity those who remain…”

The director Dominic Champagne also delivered a vibrant tribute to the man he describes as his friend and brother and who died while a little Lucien was being born in his own family.

“You die, but you will continue to live, old man. I’m proud of you. You had a heart like that, raw, crazy, skinned and luminous, you will have been a marvelous muse, from the grotesque to the sublime, something like a great soul, the stuff of a hero.”

“There is a whole people who are crying for you today, whom you have not finished moving or making laugh, to the core. Last night I repeat the words you said to Falardeau at his funeral: salute the Artist. Thanks for being there. I love you, my tabscam!”

The comedian Mario Jean also took to Facebook to share his pain.

“Oh no… Julien Poulin has just left us. Yes, we have lost an extraordinary actor, but having worked with him on a few occasions, I assure you that above all we have just lost an extraordinary man. Kind, generous, humble, empathetic, intelligent, with incomparable social values,” he writes.

The actress and musician Viviane Audet describes the late actor as “a huge, kind, generous person”.

“Julien is also my adolescence with Elvis Gratton who has trouble with his folding chair, but for me, it will always remain Germain in Truck, the first character on whom we put our first film music notes. He was a very inspiring actor and human.”

The singer And Bigras noted on his Facebook page: “I did the music for Pierre Falardeau’s latest film and I spent a couple of months with Julien. Huge actor, nice guy and super sensitive. It’s hitting hard today. »

The actress Florence Longpre simply wrote: “Thank you for everything Julien. You were a big one.”
