Who else than Timothée Chalamet to wear the very first Tom Ford creation by designer Haider Ackermann? Last night on the red carpet of the 2025 Golden Globes in Los Angeles, the Franco-American actor caused a sensation – not because he showed up on the arm of Kylie Jenner who directly joined him inside to the ceremony, but because he once again paid homage to Bob Dylan through his look, while inaugurating a new era for the Tom Ford brand which his long-time friend, the Franco-Colombian designer Haider Ackermann, took over. head in September last.

The latter, who is due to present his first collection at the head of the American brand next March in , obviously wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to dress the 29-year-old actor. Named for his portrayal of musician Bob Dylan in A complete stranger which comes out in on January 29, Timothée Chalamet appeared in a fitted black suit, spotted with sequins, and accompanied by a pair of leather ankle boots, a great specialty of Haider Ackermann. The Franco-American accompanied this look with a small blue silk scarf with white polka dots that he tied around his neck. A clever nod to the album cover Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan released in 1966.

This is far from being the first time that Timothée Chalamet has tried to play the method dressing. In recent years, actors and actresses have taken advantage of red carpets to continue to embody the characters they play on screen. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling with BarbieZendaya for Spiderman 3or Anya Taylor-Joy with Furious had, for example, complied with this fashion exercise by putting together outfits full of winks. If he had done it several times while promoting Dune 2Timothée Chalamet almost dressed up as Bob Dylan on December 13 for the premiere of his new film. A well-thought-out reference to a 2003 photo where the musician sported long blonde bangs under a beanie.

If the wink was much more subtle this time, the young actor’s outfit was in the purest Haider Ackermann style and is reminiscent of the silhouettes already developed for him at the Venice Film Festival in 2019 and in 2022. A winning duo which offers us a first glimpse of the designer’s future work at Tom Ford.
