As the deadlines approach, stage fright gradually takes hold in the minds of the eight actors in the troupe. And why not laugh?” They will perform in January and February to present their new piece.
This year, spectators will be taken to the restaurant “La Tanière”, a gastronomic establishment which has just lost one of its two stars acquired by Georges, who left the reins to his son Hubert and his daughter-in-law Marguerite. But the latter do not have the same culinary talent… far from it. Let’s see: is everything OK for Marguerite, who calls herself Meggie out of snobbery, her only daughter of whom she is very proud and her husband’s cook in this renowned restaurant that she runs with an iron fist? Let’s zoom in: well, not so much!
In fact, the restaurant is in free fall, the accounts are in the red at the bank, no employee can resist Meggie’s dictatorship and Hubert, her husband, turns out to be a poor cook when he officiates alone. In addition, Georges, his father-in-law and founder of the establishment, has completely lost track of the loss of his second star and Angèle, the old servant, now refuses to let it count. This is enough to shake the ivory tower in which Meggie reigns, sure of herself. In addition, this couple of restaurateurs must deal with Juliette, Hubert’s sister, and her friend Denise. She chose a completely different life: very far from standards and snobbery…
Denise is even a tramp… Let’s add the ingredient of poor Marie-Sophie, Marguerite’s sister whom everyone is trying to place, preferably, in a good family! Here you have all the ingredients for a hilarious recipe, to be consumed at will, without moderation.
“Since September, with two rehearsals per week, the actors have been ardently refining their text and their stage performance,” says Philippe Névé. And “like every year, the handymen put together a very elaborate decor for this piece by Jean-Claude Martineau, entitled: The Tumble”.
