the essential
The famous radio show will be a great local event, and preparations for the town are going well.

The new year shines a few sentinels of hope in Labastide-Saint-Pierre, and no one should miss the arrival of a superb event which will mark the winter of a desire to play. Entertainment has no other meaning than itself, like the event that is emerging to delight all generations. The town will have the honor of welcoming a -Inter team for the prestigious 1,000 Euro Game, presented by Nicolas Stoufflet, who honors us with his visit: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our town, a way to create excitement and highlight our living environment” explains Suzie Malandin, municipal councilor responsible for organizing the event. Because the possibility of such an attractive moment is largely due to the will of Mayor Jérôme Beq, never closed when it comes to putting the municipality in the spotlight: “This meeting corresponds to our philosophy of multiply attractive and original events, and obviously this date should convince a wide audience” underline local elected officials. Because the 1,000 Euro Game is the oldest radio game, created in 1958 by Henri Kubnick, and it remains one of France Inter’s flagship broadcasts.

Presented by Nicolas Stoufflet since September 2008, it is broadcast at 12:45 p.m., and it remains the most listened to program on all radio stations, with 1.6 million listeners: “This public broadcast is recorded in the municipalities of France, and it is based on general culture questions, all sent by listeners” the organizers explain to us.

Spontaneity and humor

Candidates are selected on site at check-in time. The game is open to all, with no registration or obligation to participate: “It’s double or nothing every time, it’s a collaborative game where you play in pairs, with banco questions, then super banco , in blue, white and red” specifies Suzie Malandin. On the organizational side, the municipality has already got everything sorted: “Everything will happen at the rural center, people come as they are, there are no reservations and we will record five shows”. As a preamble, a work meeting will take place with the whole team. There is no need to register in advance, because the selection of candidates is made on site, with the public: “Entry will be free and free, subject to availability.”

Next Thursday, February 20, a first selection with registration at 5 p.m. for adults, then a selection and registration at 6:30 p.m. for young people: “We have adapted the passages to give students time to leave their educational establishment to come” specifies Suzie Malandin. Questions and speed will mark the events, the radio broadcast of which will be broadcast in March.

The agenda must therefore not be neglected, because all games, including those which seem the simplest, contain ancient wisdom.
