After eight years of absence, the group Blondie is preparing to make its comeback on the music scene. The New York group, which marked the history of rock and new wave, announces the release of a new album for 2025.
Blondie, formed in 1974, quickly established itself as a pillar of New York’s underground punk scene. The group has conquered an international audience thanks to its unique blend of pop, punk, new wave and disco. With more than 40 million albums sold worldwide, Blondie remains an emblematic figure of 80s music: “Heart of Glass” (1978), “Call Me” (1980), “Rapture”, “The Tide Is High”…so many notable titles.
The guitarist and co-founder of the group, Chris Steinannounced the news on social networks by sharing a black and white photo of the singer Debbie Harry a studio.
Blondie’s next album will be produced by John Congleton, known for his work with renowned artists such as Lana Del Rey, Gossip, Franz Ferdinand and Phoebe Bridgers. Fans hope that the release of this 12th studio album will be followed by an international tour. Blondie’s last concert in France dates back to June 2017, at the Olympia in Paris.
