The Australian actress, who lost her mother a few months ago, dedicated her acting prize at the Palm Spring International Film Festival to her on January 3.

“My whole career has been dedicated to my mom and dad, and they’re gone. I’m sorry for crying, I didn’t mean to, but I’m thinking about my mom right now. This is for you , mom,” said the actress, wiping away a tear.
“I’m still mourning my mother and I want to dedicate this award to her, because I didn’t have the opportunity to dedicate the one from the Venice Film Festival to her.”
“It’s for you mom.”
“She left when I had just arrived in Venice. When I found out, I asked Halina (Reijn, the director of Babygirl), to come on stage for me and accept the award for me.”
“I’m in shock”
Nicole Kidman’s mother died during the Venice Film Festival. She was 83 years old. The actress immediately left Italy when she heard the news, leaving the director of BabygirlHalina Reijn, collect her performance prize. On stage, she read a message from the actress explaining why she couldn’t be there:
“Today I arrived in Venice to learn shortly after that my beautiful and courageous mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had just died. I am in shock and I have to go see my family (…) She (her mother) m “formed me, she guided me and she made me.”
Very close to her mother, Nicole Kidman interrupted her budding career in 1984 to be by her side during her breast cancer. Janelle has often been seen alongside her daughter at ceremonies like the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
