That of Senegal is not only the celebration of April 4. But it is first of all a term which means the progressive rupture through the empowerment of a country in all areas.
In reality, what does the empowerment of a country mean? What is it actually?
It is simply the fact of no longer depending on anyone in this or that area.
In the economic field, in the military field, in the intellectual, agricultural field, etc., Senegal is a country that wants to be respectable and respected in this sense.
The Government of Senegal has requested the departure of French Forces.
Senegal, our dear country, can now take care of itself. He feels strong in the defense area.
Senegal can take care of itself without help, obviously from France in this very specific area which is that of defense.
This does not mean that France was expelled. France was not chased out, it is a partner country. Partner at a certain specific level. But when Senegal really feels capable of filling the “gap” in defense, Senegal asks France simply to put an end to this assistance.
Moreover, it is not Senegal which is asking France to put an end to this military cooperation, but it is the two countries which recognize the progress of Senegal in its progress towards the security coverage of its territory.
Simply recognizing together the progress made, they decided that the partnership should end in this area.
This is in no way a crisis between Senegal and France, it is rather the end of a partnership which is based on progress made by Senegal. That’s all. But France remains a privileged and extraordinary partner for Senegal. Like it or not, all countries in the world have partners.
The United States of America had an extraordinary partner which is England. And at a certain point, the United States found it necessary that it was able to take care of itself, and the military partnership ended and a new partnership was born between England, the United States and France through NATO.
France and Senegal can therefore come together in a new partnership to fight, for example, universal injustices, global injustices and international banditry.
We always need one or the other. This is called interdependence in the struggle to maintain global security.
This is proof of interdependence. It is no longer dependence but interdependence.
Because we are moving from independent partnership to interdependent partnership and that is extraordinary.
Therefore, everyone must work for respect, first of all, of the charter which must unite the countries and the charter of independence. Because when we say that a country is independent, it is because this country has statutes and charters. So, everyone must respect the other. One must respect the other and vice versa.
We are therefore, as Veterans, very happy with what our grandsons, our sons are doing. Because also, it is not normal that at a certain moment in our history, that we are always the same. We will have to change positively, and I think that the transition from independence to interdependence is a crowning achievement of the efforts made.
And as Veterans, we feel really invigorated by this new assault on, really, addiction, which is a form of laziness.
We do not rule out dependency if we are in need and there is a deficit to fill.
What do you want? We need to call on those who master this or that area better than us. But out of pride, the need for education, for the acquisition of knowledge, once we feel sufficient, we say stop to independence.
It’s time we took care of ourselves and that’s what’s normal.
We must therefore not fall into the temptation of “France get out”, no, France must not get out. It’s an inappropriate term.
We are all human beings.
In our struggles, there is always dependence. This is a social issue, not a political one. It’s a societal issue. A natural question.
Between the desert and the forest, there is an interdependence. The forest needs the fruits of the forest just as the forest needs the oil of the desert.
Nature teaches us many things, we refuse to know the lessons of nature.
