Vincent Lagaf himself did not expect such an audience. After twenty years of forced cessation, “Le Bigdil” made a triumphant return on the air of RMC Story, this Thursday, January 2, with the troublemaker at the helm of a revamped formula. On average, 1.8 million nostalgic fans, or 9.1% of the public, plunged back into the host's gimmicks, overwhelmed by emotion and always accompanied by his extra-terrestrial friend Bill. Exceptional figures for this confidential TNT channel, fourth most followed of the evening, and even number one on certain targets. “We always hope that a show will work but, at this level, we didn't expect it. This success shows that I was right to refuse three times. They trusted the old man”, humbly confided his servant to our colleagues from “Parisien”.

A duel with “Gladiators” on TF1 avoided

However, despite this immense success, RMC Story decided to change the day the entertainment was broadcast. From January 10, “Le Bigdil” will find its place on the program schedules on Fridays, from 9:10 p.m. A migration which has not been explained by the channel, but which is commonplace in the French audiovisual landscape. Vincent Lagaf and his antics therefore had to find themselves facing the TF1 gladiators of the trio Denis Brogniart/Hélène Mannarino/Jean-Pierre Foucault. But the announced duel will not take place, the front page having decided to urgently cancel its entertainment after two issues, due to lack of audience.

RMC Story, “a pretty little family”

In the show “On refait la télé”, on RTL, Vincent Lagaf expressed his reluctance to return to TF1, preferring the creative freedom offered by channel 23.I don't know in what honor of holiness I am with TF1. I don't know if they want to see me again or not and on the other hand, I don't know what they could offer me. I prefer craftsmanship to industry”, he argued to justify his arrival on RMC Story. And to add: “I don’t know if they will call back and then even if they call me back… The friendship that I have established with the management of RMC Story… I get along well, they don’t piss me off. I tell them: 'I want to do that', we do it. 'I don't want to do that', we really don't, it's a nice little family! It remains to be seen whether this perfect harmony will last past the effect of curiosity.
