Hiking is good. Eating is good too. Listen to Music? Idem. So, participate in the “A gourmet’s step” hike in Cormeilles (Eure), it will combine these three pleasures of life.

Saturday June 21, 2025, music festival daythe association Sports and nature of Calonne will organize this event for the first time and through six stepswill tickle the taste buds of 400 guestswho can already reserve their places on the Internet.

The members of the association which has been setting up the Trail de la Calonne for four years wanted a new project: “There were several ideas, and we agreed on this one”, say Nicolas Courbet, its president, and Julie Guesdonmember of the board of directors.

From aperitif to dessert

Discovering the region, through sporting activity, is also one of the objectives included in the statutes. “It will remain a rando sports because here, things are going up,” remarks the former manager of Presse Cormeillaise.

Over the 14 km of the walk, active bon vivants will be able to eat during six stages in key locations in Cormeilles and its surroundingswith different parts of the meal in a gastronomic approach: aperitif, starter, trou normand, main course, cheese and dessert.

A different chef or producer each time will come and present his creation, using sublimated local products.

Farmers market and music

The 400 participants will be divided in groups of 40 people, with departures every quarter of an hour from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In total, the meal and the walk will take approximately six hours. “They will leave with a free backpack and a drink as well as a passport for each stage,” specifies Julie Guesdon.

“The departure and arrival will take place at the Busnel distillery and the hike can be followed by a free visit. There will also be a farmers’ market,” she adds.

Music Festival obliges, the volunteers intend to integrate “musical entertainment throughout the route”. They still need a few artists to find, for a small fee.

Like the places, the unique menu is currently kept secret and may in any case be subject to change. In any case, both meat and fish will be included because it would be too complicated to offer several options. Organizers will avoid the use of allergens such as peanuts.

Reservations open

Sports et nature de la Calonne has created a website dedicated to reservations. It has been available for a few weeks. It is possible to register at the price of 50 euros per adult.

A price justified by an expensive organization: more than €29,000 in total, of which €6,000 remains to be found.

The association has requested aid from the Department, the Community of Municipalities and the Region, and will not receive answers until April.

To meet the budget, we will need to find sponsors. We will also need volunteers and local producers interested in the distillery market.

40 volunteers will be needed the same day: “The goal is to serve people quickly. »

This large-scale event will undoubtedly “attract people to Cormeilles for the music festival”.

As for the Trail de la Calonne, it will take place this year on June 8.
