For three years, a group passionate about musicals has been bringing the Pays de Guingamp to life. The “Si on chantait” troupe – made up of three men and three women – notably played, in 2024, in the Roudourou hall, at the Bgard Christmas market and above all, as part of the Telethon, at the Champ au Roy theater , in Guingamp. “We raised almost €1,000 for the cause, we were very proud to have been able to do our show there,” says Brigitte Leuranguer, a member of the troupe since its beginnings.
But that is almost already a thing of the past for the Guingamp singers, who are looking forward to 2025 with the ambition of creating a new show with new songs. Including English compositions to modernize the repertoire. “We work on the theme of the classroom, of the school,” explains the former manager of the En Avant boutique, without revealing too much. We love what we do but we want to sing more recent things, like Santa or Claudio Capéo in order to add a touch of modernity to our next show. »
The desire to stand out
However, everything did not fit together perfectly for “Si on chantait” (not to be confused with the choir of the same name in Gourin, in Morbihan) because the founding couple of the troupe left Brittany a few months ago . “We lived on our achievements for six months,” before getting back on track, continues the woman who has been singing since her youth and who even performed with Jean-Baptiste Guégan, Johnny’s vocal double, before it is known to the general public.
“We really want to stand out by putting on disguises and accessories that we change during the show,” explain the members of the troupe. To achieve this, they meet every Tuesday evening at the MJC in Bgard for three-hour sessions, during which everyone listens to each other and gives each other advice to progress together. “Personally, I admire the level of the Enflammés de Lamballe, what they do is extraordinary! », says the Guingampaise by birth. No one doubts that they will let their imagination and their voices speak to get closer.
