the essential
Nearly 600 guests celebrated the New Year in a festive and warm atmosphere thanks to the flawless organization of the Merchants’ Association and the CC2R.
For the first time in a long time, New Year’s Eve was born, organized by the Association of Traders and Craftsmen of Deux-Rives and the community of communes.
Nearly 600 guests met under the Jean-Baylet hall, in Valence d’Agen (Tarn-et-Garonne), magnificently prepared and decorated for the occasion. Prepared for several months, this event reflected the considerable efforts made by its organizers to ensure its success.
As soon as the announcement was made, reservations soared, so much so that in two days, the room was sold out. The success was palpable, and on the “D” day, while the cold outside encouraged people to take refuge in the warmth, the first guests to enter the room were welcomed at 7 p.m., by Jean-Paul Delachoux, vice-president of the CC2R , who represented President Jean-Michel Baylet. We had brought out the party outfits: suits, ties or bow ties for the men, beautiful dresses or chic ensembles for the women.
Delicacies
For this New Year’s Eve, the menu had something to make the taste buds salivate, starting with the aperitif (limoncello spritz and assortments of four aperitif pieces per person), followed by varied starters (assortments of pâtés en croute with foie gras and morels , plate of smoked salmon and blinis with lemon cream, white pudding with grilled morels served hot), main course presented in cassolettes (slowly cooked South-West veal tenderloin). low temperature accompanied by a delicate chanterelle cream, a festive pan and a creamy risotto), a platter of mature AOC cheeses and an assortment of individual desserts (minibaba with limoncello, hazelnut heart muffin, babanettone with candied fruits). All washed down with white, red, champagne and water wines.
40 years of the community of communes
Before the meal, presented in the form of a buffet, began, the vice-president of the CC2R and mayor of Pommevic welcomed everyone, emphasizing that this event marked the 40th anniversary of the community of communes.
He also recalled that this New Year’s meal closed a complicated year 2024, marked by numerous conflicts in the world, while specifying that this transition from 2024 to 2025 was organized by the CC2R, in collaboration with the AC2R and elected officials. . In closing, he wished, on behalf of President Jean-Michel Baylet, a very happy new year 2025 to everyone.
In turn, President Gianno Soriano recalled that the Traders’ Association was involved in this New Year’s Eve. Then Ernest Lopes, transformed into master of ceremonies, thanked everyone present before explaining the course of the meal and the evening, including the entertainment and a colorful cabaret show proposed by Valérie, from the Magic Albret production .
Visual feast
The whole evening, until the stroke of midnight, offered a real visual feast: beautiful, very beautiful even, worthy of the great Parisian establishments. Then after the last stroke of midnight, fireworks marked the start of the new year, and the night continued in a festive atmosphere where we kissed each other to wish each other a Happy New Year.
The party ended around 5 a.m., with glitter in your eyes, music in your ears and memorable memories. A successful evening, with very positive feedback.
