LE WE 20H
On January 6, 1975, the former first channel officially became French television 1, that is to say TF1. Three days after this launch, Maïté was born, who testifies in the subject of 20H to be found at the top of this article. She grew up watching our channel which punctuated her life, starting with her childhood, and first cites Club Dorothée cartoons like “Candy” and “Goldorak”.
“A place where we like to be”
Above all, what you remember from our channel are memories shared as a family: “For me, TF1 is a family channel”confides a woman interviewed in the street. And she's not the only one:“Since I was very little, every lunchtime, every evening, when I am with my grandparents, we watch shows like “Les 12 coups de midi”, “The Voice”, “Here everything begins”, assures this young viewer. “My grandma, she loves it so I often watch with her. And it's like a kind of place we like to be.” For this other Frenchman in demand, TF1 brings back Sunday afternoons with the family, with chicken and fries, in front of “Walker, Texas Ranger” with the inimitable Chuck Norris or “Le Rebelle” with the fiery Lorenzo Lamas.
Alexandre is 26 years old. His passion: TF1 game shows. He even has recordings of old shows that he likes to watch again: “When I was little, I always dreamed of participating in game shows,” he said, listing “The Price is Right”, “Take it or leave it” et “Koh-Lanta” among his favorites. “Les 12 coups de midi” by Jean-Luc Reichmann also comes up insistently when we talk to you about the 50th anniversary of TF1 (“I'm a fan”, says a person in front of our camera). Moreover, what would TF1 be without the eternal credits of “The Young and the Restless”, without its “Star Academy” or even without the Saturday evening ritual in front of “The Voice”, all mentioned?
A thought for Jean-Pierre Pernaut
Among the personalities that come back to you, Christophe Dechavanne and Jean-Pierre Foucault are regularly cited. You also remember sporting events with of course the football World Cup in 1998 with the champion French team and the famous phrase from Thierry Roland (“Two goals from Zidane, one goal from Petit, I think that after seeing that, we can die peacefully“). Sadder news also had an impact on you, such as the attack on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001.
