Eight years after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt citing “irreconcilable differences,” the former couple finally reached an agreement on terms and both stars signed it.
Angelina’s lawyer, James Simon, confirmed the agreement.
He told PEOPLE: “Over eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the properties they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then she has is focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long process that began eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved that this. game is over.”
Although the split was acrimonious, a source close to Jolie added that the two actors remain civil.
She explains: “She doesn’t say anything bad about [Pitt] in public or private. She strives to be light after a dark period.”
Angelina, 49, filed for divorce from Brad, 61, in September 2016 after just two years of marriage.
