Building a show from the books present on site is what Michela Angeli proposed at the Gourdon bookstore, Des Livres et Vous.
Michela Angeli, originally from Italy, made her atypical accent known during her readings intended for the little ones at Gourdon.
Workshops, shows and readings
She is a facilitator, librarian, children’s book mediator, and introduces herself: “With Girotondo, I offer workshops for children around books, arts and creative hobbies, as well as shows and readings for the whole family. I also make reading support materials, such as reading mats, puppets, games and crancky boxes.” Indeed, on Sunday, the Des Livres et Vous bookstore, open for the holidays, invited Michela to present some stories told in a teepee.
Frédéric Landes discovered it while reading his emails, Michela runs three types of activities for children, especially in libraries, each intervention lasts 30 to 45 minutes, and Michela seduced the bookseller in her way of presenting her program: “a children’s show based on his books, what could be better for Christmas,” he confided. Yes! It is an improvised show based on readings chosen from the bookstore shelves.
Candles, an Indian tent, a magic lamp…
For this session, place in darkness, candles for only lighting, an Indian tent, a magic lamp which scrolls marvelous images, and a kind of jaw’s harp with several tabs. The little ones were amazed, Michela won over her young audience immediately, taking them on a journey where the books are the protagonists and where the surprises are hidden between the pages. They learned to recognize animals hidden among hidden objects and admired the first stars that appeared, transporting themselves to worlds between dream and reality.
On the program: albums, candle readings, nursery rhymes, songs, shadow theater, cranckie-box… enough to seduce the public of this day.
