This pianist gives pride of place to Beethoven and Liszt. Tanguy de Williencourt will perform “The romantic touch”, Sunday January 12, 2025 at 5 p.m., on the Archipel stage.
Tanguy de Williencourt is an accomplished musician: noted soloist and sought-after chamber musician. The instrumentalist also teaches piano at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Musique, in Paris, since 2021, and is also head of singing at the Paris Opera, in 2022.
For his visit to the Archipelago, he offers an immersion in the heart of pianistic romanticism of the early 19th century. He will present two of Beethoven’s most emblematic works: the sonata “Au clair de lune”, by turns funereal and telluric, which Liszt described as “a flower between two abysses”, and the sonata “Waldstein”, bathed in a radiant light and which, through its audacity and modernity, overturns all the codes of musical thought.
