The Festival of sea shanties and world Music has just revealed the first 14 artists who will perform in Paimpol (Côtes d’Armor) on August 8, 9 and 10, 2025.
Artists who refer to the common thread of the Paimpolais musical event: travel and roots, anchoring and change of scenery.

From Mali to Finland
The mixing of musical genres and world music has always had a special place at the Sea Chant Festival.
With the singer Joy (Friday August 8, 7 p.m., Stan Hugil stage)the organizers will not disappoint the faithful. Born to a Nigerian father and a German mother, Ayo draws her roots from soul, folk and reggae to create unique and vibrant music. On August 8, she will unveil her seventh album to the public of Paimpol, “Mami Wata”inspired by his installation in Tahiti.
The coming of committed Guadeloupean trio, Delgres (Saturday August 9, 5 p.m., Stan Hugil Stage)to “free Creole blues funk!” ”, also promises a great moment. Its rebel music and burning carries the message of heroes of the fight against slavery in Guadeloupe. It’s a solid fusion between Creole and Frenchwith a heavy artillery of sounds and senses.
Coming from Mali, Fatoumata Diawara (Saturday August 9, 9 p.m., Stan Hugil Stage) explores afrobeat, jazz, pop, electro, rock, hip-hop and even ska. She also revisits traditional Mandinka tunes and his music will make you dance in front of the big stage.
Songs of Quebec and Occitanie
This could be one of the revelations of the festival:
will come from Finland (Friday August 8, 11:30 p.m., Cabaret Michel Tonnerre)a country whose traditional music at Electronic Dance Musicall on the accordion. A lover of Metal since adolescence, Antti Paalanene adds to this techno mix a throaty singing inspired by Siberian traditions.
First name announced among the Quebec artists who will be in the spotlight for this 2025 edition, the vocal Gamik (Friday August 8, 9:30 p.m., Bateau Stage / Saturday August 9, 2 p.m., Stan Hugil Stage / Sunday August 10, 7:15 p.m., Michel Pinc Stage) brings together choristers from Quebec and Lévis on board his sailboat.
Coming from Occitanie, The Badly Coiffed (Friday August 8, 8:30 p.m., Cabaret Michel Tonnerre) originates from Minervoisand reinvents a polyphonic singing where poetry and the Occitan language are inseparable from popular expression.
The Limiñanas et Soviet Suprem
And for lovers of rockgood news, the Catalan duo The Limiñanas will make a stopover at the port of Paimpol (Friday August 8, 12:45 a.m., Stan Hugil Stage) on the occasion of their European tour to defend on stage “Faded”, their next album to be released in February. A must-have tinged with sixties rock and psychedelia.
