The new features of WhatsApp
WhatsApp introduces several new features in December 2024. And this, with the aim to enrich the user experience and improve its practicality.
Now users can filter their notifications. For example by choosing to only receive those linked to mentions direct or specific responses.
This helps reduce unnecessary interruptions, particularly in active groups. A new icon makes it easier to select and send multiple photos or videos at once.
And this, while allowing their quality to be adjusted to guarantee better resolution. A feature “search the Internet” is added, and it makes it possible to verify the origin and authenticity of the images.
In addition, WhatsApp offers finer management of group calls. This allows only the participants concerned to be selected.
New visual effects and a desktop interface redesigned also enrich the visual and practical experience. Moreover, a new feature allows you to add and manage your contacts directly on WhatsApp.
Other new features to come
This addition avoids cluttering the phone directory. This therefore facilitates also synchronization on multiple devices at the same time.
These updates reflect Meta’s effort to position WhatsApp as a comprehensive and user-friendly communications platform. You must of course remember to update your application to take full advantage of it.

In addition to the usual bug fixes, Meta announced that an option to share music directly on WhatsApp would be available soon. This new functionality is in line with the recent update d’Instagram.

With update 2.24.22.11, all you have to do is go to the Status tab, click on the dedicated option, and add music to complement – or replace – text. The music can be modified as desired.
Currently, the beta version of this functionality is therefore accessible on Android and in testing phase. It should be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
To benefit from it as soon as it is released, you must ensure that your application is maintained WhatsApp updated. Adding music to social platforms isn’t limited to Meta.
The social network X (formerly Twitter) therefore also works on a similar functionality. This confirms a trend: users want to share music as easily as images or messages.
