The magazine “8:30 p.m. on Saturday”, presented by Laurent Delahousse just after the 8 p.m. news on France 2, reveals the little story in the big one, to leaf through like a family album.
“8:30 p.m. Saturday(New window)(New window)(New window)(New window)” (X(New window)(New window)(New window)(New window)) tells the destiny of Anne-Sophie Pic, star of French gastronomy, three stars in the Michelin Guide and restaurants around the world.
As a little girl, she already lives to the rhythm of the kitchens from her room: she shares her house, and especially her parents, with the customers of the family restaurant which invades everything. In these conditions, she only dreams of one thing, to break away. And yet, this little girl will become one of the greatest chefs in the world.
The inn acquired in 1929 by his great-grandparents will become a gastronomic establishment, the Pic House, in Valencia. His father Jacques succeeded in finding the three stars lost by his grandparents after the war. It wasn’t up to her to take up the torch but life will decide otherwise. And she will have to fight to find her place, guided by her palate and her sense of smell, always in search of the perfect dish. From childhood memories to haute cuisine, Anne-Sophie Pic has succeeded in sublimating her destiny.
